So today is March 2nd. We are already a full 2 months and a day into the year of 2014.
What the hell ?!
Where does time go!!
It feels like yesterday we were saying "Happy New Year" and talking about our New Years Resolutions. Wow...before we know it, Easter will be here (which is right around the corner), then summer, Thanksgiving, Christmas..dam..it really seems like time flies! (Think they already have Christmas stuff out at the stores...lol.....jk)
Speaking of those Resolutions...how are they going for you? Still going strong?
It seems like every year, it is the same old thing.
We get pumped up at the beginning of the year...make some goals and Resolutions to get accomplished (this will be THE year!!!) then as life continues forward, we get lost in the daily routine. To give us credit tho, usually life is full of a lot of crap that does not even pertain to what our Resolutions were about.
So...if you still have those goals in mind and are working on them, then I applaud you. Good job!! Nothing feels better than to stay on track with something and get it accomplished. Hopefully you still feel about those Resolutions like you did on day one...and want to succeed with them more than ever!
But the tough part is coming up.
The rest of the year!!
For most people...the beginning of the year (well at least up to now) is a breeze. Of course you have life happening...but usually we can handle all that plus some. But now we start getting into big holidays and summer..you know, stuff like that. The year seems to start getting a little bit (or a lot) more chaotic...and times seems to fly by even faster.
So now is the time to "readjust the sails, and steady the course"...so to speak.
Take a few minutes..or longer time would be even better..to go over your New Years Resolutions, tweak them if needed, and renew your focus and commitment on them.
Obviously you know that you can accomplish them...and you want to accomplish them...or you would have never made them. (I keep saying them, with the assumption that you made more than one Resolution....yes, I know what they say about assuming....but I feel pretty confident in saying that most people make more than one Resolution).
So now is the time to kick it up a notch, get back on track...and kick those Resolutions in the ass!!
Because, as you know...time flies!
Welcome! My name is Travis, but my nickname and future pen name is Boowie! I want to be a writer..and started this blog to get some ideas and thoughts out, and to just clear the clutter in my head! I hope you enjoy, and please share and comment!

Deep Words from an Old Gentleman
Earlier today, I had a conversation with this older gentleman..want to say he is probably in 80's or so.
He is on vacation with his daughter and family, and was glad to get out of the house...he said at the end and beginning of the month his daughter always starts 'nagging' about money and bills ('nagging' is his terminology..personally I know women do not nag).
I said that is usually how everyone is, because pay day and bills are usually due around that time.
He huffed and said, I have tried to tell her time and time again...
"Life is not about bills and money. Life is about living...
and if you are always worried about bills and money, you will never live."
WOW! Deep words!
We went on to talk about how he had not always thought like that...and he has had his share of ups and downs with finances. He had been married twice, the first ending due to bills and money, and his second wife passing away a few years ago.
Then he uttered the age old saying...
"If i would have known then what I know now.."
To sum up, this gentleman really got me to thinking...
What truly is important in our life at the end of the day?
What knowledge are we disregarding from our elders...that could truly benefit us?
...to name a few questions that come to mind. I swear, the older i get, the wiser our elders seem to be...and the more respect I have for them.
Morning Good or the Bad ??
Morning!
So had some serious thinking this morning.
(not to say I do not think every other morning...but you get the idea)
First thing getting my day started...I had something bad happen...then, not 5 minutes after it, I had something good happen. Which all led me to the serious thinking!!
Everyday, we have things happen to us. Yes, sometimes the things that happen are all good. And sometimes the things that happen are all bad. But on average, you get a blend of both throughout the day. What really seems to stick with you though...is which one you focus on!
Now...I could have focused on the bad thing that happened. I could have let it override and be in my thoughts all day. And believe me...sometimes it just feel good to dwell on being pissy. If you go that route, you start focusing on all that is wrong and you see bad things just about everywhere!! Well, to me, that just isn't any fun...and kinda depressing. As I said in earlier blog (No more Negative Spew) focusing on the bad, or as i like to call it - the negative, just leads to more of the same!!
So...
I choose to focus on the good something that happened. Not only does it lead me to more good thinking, but it puts me in a happy mood as well! So since I am having 'good thinking', it becomes contagious and helps others I come into contact with have 'good thinking' as well!
(I have to pause here and give some consideration to all my english teachers...I do know proper grammar...sometimes, lol)
The bad and the good that happened this morning really weren't that big of a issue...and I am probably expanding this out of proportion to make a point...but it is making a point, lol.
If ya think of it all like a circle...what you think or feel is what you get. So...if you know you are going to get something...wouldn't you want it to be good? Makes me think of the saying "What goes around, comes around."

NO MORE Negative Spew
So, I was getting a little frustrated.
A little frustrated with people, a little frustrated with life, a little frustrated with my part time business.
If you know me, then you are thinking..."WHAT?! He is crazy about that part time business!"
As you know (and if you don't know, please refer to past blog about it here) I have a part time business that I am obsessed with. Well not really obsessed...but I DO think it is the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Well...to me...it just makes common sense to become involved with it. But, to each their own...and I know it is not meant for some people. I understand that. But please do not bust my bubble about it!
Granted, as with anything, you can over think it (or life in general)...and ruin the whole opportunity by applying or adding more to it than there really is. That...along with just the negative society we live in...it is a real buzz kill when you are sometimes trying to grow your business, or for that matter just lead a positive lifestyle!
Of course...I understand that in Network Marketing especially you will receive more No's than Yes's.
I get that. I do. As Les Brown, my favorite speaker, says.."make No your vitamin. Take it daily."
But some people just wake up with a negative attitude...and have a goal of spewing that on everything or everyone they meet!! Is it just me, or am I right in thinking that it does not feel good to be so negative? I mean...if they took all that negative energy and applied it to something constructive...or...dare I say it...something positive, then wow think what they could do!!
Of course...being the person I am, I try to tell them this. Thankfully some hear it, and you can almost see the wheels turning in their heads as they think about it. But unfortunately...there are many who just continue on with their negativity. So, all in all, I pray for them..and hope someone will get through to them.
WHAT GETS ME IS...
Sometimes that spew of negativity clings to my attitude. Just a little bit of it will breed and if I let it, it will ruin my entire day. I find myself taking calming deep breathes from time to time....just to try and get that negativity off me.
All in all, there is a lesson to be learned from these negative people.
The way I figure it is, you get two choices. To look at things in a positive way...or to look at things in a negative way. One is happy, and one is sad. One is healthy, and one is not. Everyday you are given that choice to decide which way you want to go. I know which way I decide to go with when I wake up...
How about you?

Trying to Blog
So i am trying out this 'blogging' stuff.
I tried it out a few months ago...and it really just became a collection of stuff and ideas.
Which..I guess that is what 'blogging' is, huh?
Anyways...
I want to eventually be a writer, so that is one reason I want to get into this. Ever since I was able to, I have loved reading. Just to be able to pick up a book, and get lost in another world..I love that!! Well...I have 'all these 'worlds' (so to speak) and ideas in my head...and I need to share them!! But, I have trouble gathering my thoughts and putting them on paper. So...tada!!...'blogging' will be one of my vehicles to learn how to get my thoughts out!!
Plus, I am a cool guy..(so cool I am as cold as ice..as I like to tell my Fiance, lol...bare with me...you will eventually learn to appreciate my humor as well.).
Anyways...I deeply appreciate you here..and promise to have some stuff on here worth reading, sharing, laughing about..all that good stuff. As I become more comfortable and familiar with it all...the posts will get better.
